The Wicked King, by Holly Black (January 8) After ’s The Cruel Prince ended on a double-cross cliffhanger that left us screaming, we calmly (lol) sat down to wait for this sequel. It’s well worth the breathless anticipation: Black takes faerie king Cardan and his human right hand, Jude, into dark new depths, including an underwater queendom that could be Jude’s undoing.
